The story, once you’ve got a pint

Morley has been meeting here for two centuries.

The Scatcherds built this pub in 1800, honouring Nelson’s victory on the Nile two years earlier. Watson Scatcherd held Morley’s first Magistrate’s Court on these premises until 1817 — sitting on an old Jacobean chair that now rests in the Mayor’s Parlour at Morley Town Hall. The court moved on. The pub didn’t.

Play your cards right.

Every Wednesday at 8pm our quizmaster deals the real oversized cards from our custom wooden board for the live cash jackpot. Practise the Nelly board right here on your phone before Wednesday night — climb the four pub rooms, stake your points, and conquer the Top Table.

  1. Stake at least 50 points on each call.
  2. Call higher or lower than the face-up card.
  3. Climb — clear each row to move up (The Bar → The Lounge → The Snug → The Top Table).
  4. Three pints — each wrong call costs one stout. Lose all three and it’s last orders; a clean row wins one back.
