Who we are
The Nelson Arms (“The Nelly”), 84 Victoria Road, Morley, Leeds LS27 8LS, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. Questions about your data: thenellymorley1@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
When you use our enquiry form we collect the enquiry reason, your name, email address, and — if you give them — a phone number, an event date and your message. If you email us directly we receive whatever you include in the email.
We use these details only to answer your enquiry or arrange your function. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, and for functions, taking steps you’ve asked for before an agreement. We never sell, rent or share your details for marketing.
Who handles it for us
- Netlify hosts this website and stores form submissions so they can be passed to us.
- Resend sends the one-off automatic confirmation email to the address you enter on the form.
- Google (Gmail) runs the mailbox where enquiries arrive.
These providers are based in the United States and process data on our behalf under their own data-processing terms. Netlify also keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the website secure.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry or function, then delete them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email thenellymorley1@gmail.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk (opens in new tab).
Cookies & device storage
We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and we never sell your data. Two things may be stored in your browser, and nothing else:
nelly-pycr-v2— your Play Your Cards Right high score, badges, games played and sound/odds settings. This is your browser’s local storage: it stays on your device and never leaves it.nelly-analytics-consent— remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don’t ask you again on every visit.
Cookieless page counts, on our own server. We also count how many people visit which pages using analytics software we run ourselves, on our own server, so we can see which pages are useful and which need improving. It sets no cookies, stores nothing that could identify you once your visit ends, no data is shared with anyone else, and it is never used for advertising or to build a profile of you. It records a page address, the link that brought you here, a rough device type, browser and country. If you would rather not be counted, press “Decline analytics” on the notice, or use the button below.
Google Analytics. If you press “Accept analytics” on the notice, we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages visitors find useful and how they reached us. That sets cookies on your device, and Google processes the measurement data on our behalf under the Google privacy policy (opens in new tab). If you decline — or simply ignore the notice — analytics storage stays switched off: we set no analytics cookies and nothing that could identify you or your device is stored. In that state Google receives only a cookieless signal that a page was viewed, which cannot be linked back to you.
You can change your mind at any time. Use the button below to clear your saved choice — the notice will then appear again on your next visit — or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
Google Maps: the map on our homepage only loads when you press “Show interactive map”. Once it loads, Google may set its own cookies under the Google privacy policy (opens in new tab). Links to Facebook, Instagram and BlakJak Pizza take you to sites with their own policies.
