Every Wednesday at 8pm The Nelson Arms runs a good old-fashioned pen-and-paper pub quiz (£1 per team member, general knowledge and a picture round, no music round), then Play Your Cards Right on our giant wooden board for a rolling cash jackpot, with two bonus raffles after. On the last Saturday of each month, DJs play all-vinyl sets, usually from around 7pm till late-ish, free to enter. For New Year’s Eve and Mad Friday, DJs play funk, soul, disco, house, Motown and Northern soul from 6pm till late.

Yes. There’s a free on-site car park with around 12 spaces, plus free on-street parking on Victoria Road. It fills up on Wednesday quiz nights, so arrive early.
